replacement neck
will a 4 bolt strat neck fit a 4 bolt Tele body ? both are MIM instruments - a friend has the strat neck available and the looks are not important in this instance :P

It will fit, but the Strat neck is rounded at the end, whereas the Tele neck is more square at the corners.
A strat neck will go in a tele pocket, but there will be gaps in both corners. A 22-fret strat neck will hide the gaps. A tele neck won't fit a strat pocket, unless you modify the pocket.

Most of the MIM Strats and Teles have a universal pocket that will take either. I don't know when they started doing this, but I think it's cool for those of us who like to mix and match. Just make sure you get a pickguard that will match the heel of the neck you're using.
