Bypassing a 3 way switch with 2 vols?

I have a john5 tele (the body is at least). The 3 way LP style switch is ittermittent at best and it's driving me nuts. I never switch between the two pups (it has 2 vols). So...If I were to bypass the switch altogether, how would I do it?

Another option is to replace the switch with a master tone control.

whadday think?

2 volumes and a tone control is the same set up as used in the Jazz Bass. Perhaps that would do?

Exactly. It'd be slow going for me as I tend to rush when soldering, but I think that's the way I'm going to go. I toyed with a blend instead of a switch, but I think a tone would be more useful.

With a Bridge HB (TV Jones Magnatron) and a Twisted Tele neck pup, what should the Cap value on the tone control be?

0.05 microfarad or 0.022 microfarad are the popular caps.

well I bought the parts. This weekend I'm going to fire up the soldering iron and see what kind of mess I can make.
