2 p/up "everything" wiring (phase/series/parallel) query

The way i figure it is you have 6 possibilities with 2 single coil pickups, if You can have each alone, and the 2 p/ups combined in series or parallel or in or out of phase. In short:

Neck
Bridge
Neck+Bridge SERIES (phase: IN)
Neck+Bridge SERIES (phase: OUT)
Neck+Bridge PARALLEL (phase: IN)
Neck+Bridge PARALLEL (phase: OUT)

This is pretty much the now justly famous "Deaf Eddie 5-way", which has all these save one setting.

The problem is that i just do not like 4 or 5 position switches. It is way too hard to get quickly to one of the middle positions and my small brain can't always remember the order. Mentally & in performance it is much easier for my to use a 3 way (neck-both-bridge) w/ 2 mini toggles, even though this looks less clean and gets you into late 70s spaceship console territory. Screw it. It's what is easier mid gig that counts most.

So....

Does anyone have a diagram that shows how to do a 2-pickup set up with a 3-way and a pair of mini toggles? one mini for phase and one for series/parallel?

I'm gonna bump this thread, because I'm looking for the same thing, but with push-pull pots.

i've run mini-toggles on several Teles, and while i realize they're considered tacky in some quarters, they're also mighty handy. i don't know beans about wiring, but this sounds like something that could be done. Deaf Eddie's the man on these issues, maybe he'll chime in. i'm using the Superswitch 5-way setup now (neck/series in phase/neck+bridge/series out of phase/bridge) and i've gradually gotten used to those "in-between" settings ... but i can see the mini-toggles making life easier in many situations.

You might also think about using some push-pull pots. You would keep the stock look but add the functionality of two switches.

You can do this with a 4-way switch and one push-pull pot. Hook up the 4-way in a normal fashion, then use the push-pull to reverse the phase of the neck pickup. If the neck pickup is a P-90, it's even more interesting.

Somebody call me?

Here's your idea with two toggles and, yes, you get all six possible combos:

A few fine points:

Don't forget to unground/reground the neck pup's metal cover, just as you must for the Fender 4-way mod.

You could just as easily do this with two p/p pots.

You'll only hear the out of phase when BOTH pups are selected on the 3-way OR when the "series" toggle is thrown. Obvious to most, but I have been asked the question...

Wired this way, when you throw the "series" toggle, it bypasses the 3-way pup selector. You could change the wiring of the "series" toggle slightly so that the with the "series" toggle thrown, the 3-way would give you:
bridge only/bridge only (repeats)/pups in series.

Not exactly.

The phase reverse switch on the neck pickup only affects the tone when BOTH pickups are playing.

So, you'll only hear an out of phase tone if:

A: you are playing them parallel (3-way middle throw), or

b: you are playing them in series, which bypasses the 3-way.
