Someone tried this "new" Dunlop StrapLok?

Hi!

First, let me clear that its been a while since I bought a straplok, so I cant realy tell how "new" this Dunlop Straplok is (its "new" for me, if you know what I mean).

Anyway, I've been using the Dunlop Tradicional Straplok system for several years now and it works just fine, and with the prospect of buy a new guitar in the horizon I did some net research for prices, and found out this "new" Dunlop Straplok...

What I wanted to know is if someone uses them, and whats your opinion.
I've only seen them in pic, and they seem very pratical, but look a bit fragile (are they made from plastic)?
Is it a safe bet, or should I just go for the more of the same "tradicional" system, and leave this modern stuff alone?

Thanks in advance for your input!
Axt

They have been around for quite awhile..not fragile at all....work best on the Bottom Peg...install em once and forget it....not to good for those that undo em all the time though.

I use them on all my guitars. They work really well - not cheaply made.

I think these are the best strap locks available.

I used to be a big fan of Dimarzio Clip Locks, which I still am. But they look boring and I wanted a cool strap on my 52 RI. These cost me 4$ and work great.

They are very sturdy and a bit tough to get on, so they won't come off easily but I wouldn't recommend them if you like taking your strap off all the time. I don't really see any reason to spend 20 bucks on complicated metal straplocks that require new screws, will wear out and fail, and stick out from your guitar causing excess pressure.

They work fine. I just find them a bit too big with my usually skinny straps and I don't like to see a big lump of plastic when I look at my guitars.

I like them.

they're kinda like a big, removable washer.

And they're cheap enough that if you buy a pair and for whatever reason you don't really like them, you haven't lost that much $$.

They work.

Cheers,
Geoff

They've been around for many years now. They work just fine. I've also used the Dunlop Strap Lok system as well which I really like.

Been lurking around for a while. I finally had to register to weigh in on this [and see all the great pics that hosted on site, and download the compensated nut layout tool etc.]

These look strangely like the old standby Grolsh beer bottle straplocks.
They cost $4 too, but you get to drink 2 beers...

The only difference being the dunlop is removable without taking off the strap.

I've 'enjoyed' the Grolsch solution myslef in the past. Work a treat, although they don't look too good on teles with a skinny vintage strap.

So do the grolsch washers...

Put the strap on over the stock buttons, then stretch the washer over the button.

ah, for some reason I always imagined them being pretty stiff.
