Loose Ferrules

I just picked up a '52 reissue, which is a nice guitar. While restringing, 3 out of the 6 ferrules popped out. I restrung, and of course string tension is holding them in. Is this common/uncommon. Is there an appropriate fix? Thanks.

I have one and the ferrules are in all the time but the one i bought in '72 had ones that fell out, i don't think it's anything to worry about, the string holds them in nice and snug, just don't lose them while you are restringing.

A little scrap of cloth tape should hold them in.

Much more common thing on MIM Fenders.

More good answers! Thanks again, may try the cloth tape next string change. Path of least invasiveness.

Where are you gonna put the tape? I can't see how that would work...maybe I'm missing something but the ferrules only fall out during string changes.

Gonna try a very thin one revolution wind around ferrule, then push in. I know they only fall out during string changes, but they ain't supposed to. I guess I have a little OCD.
