Heel Truss Rod Adjustment on Allparts "Fat" Neck

Hey all, I did a search on this and couldn't find a good answer. I just acquired an Allparts "Fat" neck, which has the truss rod adjustment at the heel (vintage style). As the neck is breaking in, it's beginning to bow under the string pressure (too much relief I believe it's called), and I want to make some adjustments to the neck in the near future.

Is there anything I should know about adjusting this neck vs. a more modern neck with the adjustment at the headstock? I know I need to take off the pick guard, and I don't think I'll have a problem reaching the adjust nut at the heel (although I've been wrong before). I can just use a standard screwdriver, and turn it clockwise to tighten the nut, correct?

Adjust it just a small amount (a quarter turn or eighth turn) and let it sit for a day to settle. i.e. don't overturn it, don't adjust it too often in a day...

How do you like the neck? I've got one on the way here, soon (I hope)

Check out my other thread for pics and impressions:

Here are my impressions:

First off, this neck looks GREAT on the guitar. Exactly the look I was looking for. It plays really well too. It feels contoured to my hand. I feel like I can play/faster better with a thicker neck like this.

The guitar feels much more balanced with this neck. Mind you, the body is a bit on the heavy side. Overall, it feels heavier. But, I can balance the guitar on my knee when I'm sitting down and playing, which is something that I couldn't do before. It's kind of neat.

This neck is the same length as my MIM neck, but it somehow feels longer, which is good. The MIM neck felt short, skinny, and cheap. This is the exact opposite. Overall, I'm quite happy with this neck.

I've been playing it even more since I wrote this, and my opinion of it has improved even more. Great neck.

It's a good thing to remove the truss nut completely, put a tiny bit of lube (grease such as bicycle white lithium or even Vaseline) inside the nut and on the threads and also a very thin smear on the face of the nut that touches the truss rod nut washer - replace the nut and you'll find it turns oh-so-smoothly and is lubed for wear and tear.
