Rewired 52 correctly, now sounds out of phase!
I rewired everything correctly, and double-checked it twice and still the middle position sounds out of phase. I.e. it has the classic nasal, strained out of phase tone and is actually SOFTER than the neck pup alone even with the pickups adjusted to the proper height. I know what out of phase sounds like because i have that feature on my other guitar. What should I do about it? Thanks

When reversing Tele pup leads, be aware that it's common for the bridge pup to have a lead soldered to the bridge plate (as a ground), and the neck pup to have a lead soldered to the pup cover (also as a ground connection).
For whichever pup yer reversing the leads, that pup's cover or plate ground connection MUST be broken and moved over to the OTHER pup lead - or you and your guitar will be very unhappy campers. |
