![]() the one you showed is CRAFT paint I would never recomend that type of paint for a guitar. RustOleum Metallic Finish is my fav off the shelf as of right now. ![]() Killer Chrome is simply the finest ground metallic pigment available anywhere. its not cheep but its not too bad I think you could get a guitar painted with one kit. But if you want the real deal THIS is the SHeeeeet! ![]() http://www.amazon.com/Killer-Chrome-.../dp/B000T91O2K KILLER CHROME Alsa Corp The World's Most Exotic Paints and Finishes ![]() |

That Killer Chrome really looks interesting. It would probably work great on a nice smooth poly finished guitar. A bit expensive but it looks like you could have a faux aluminum bodied guitar for a relatively low price.

Alsa Corp's site appears to be down, and Amazon has none in stock. I wager they went out of business. Dang.

The site is not down and they do not appear to have gone out of business. Check your computer.

I did a BMX helmet for my buddy's kid. he got the kit all I did was kinda wet sand it only not! I just used 0000 schott-brite buffing pad I think it = 600 grit wet sand but the auto paint store said NO! water simple green or murphy's oil soap wipe of 100% clean with white cotton rag let it sit for 30 min wipe with 100% clean with white cotton rag damp with acetone like a tac-rag again let it sit for 30 min if the poly turns white you have to seal it and start over sorry I dont have photos and now the helmet is all scrach up. (g-dam kids can never have any thing nice around here) A few weeks after this showed up at the auto paint store from Alsa Alsa Speed Clear is a fast frying (2K) technology 2 component polyurethane clearcoat that air dries in 90 minutes allowing for same day sanding and buffing Speed Clear is the perfect choice for an automotive grade finish. ![]() I got one can of this and could not wate to test it so I primed painted a 2ft x 2ft peice of MDF with Dupli-Color Metel Specks Spray Paint 2 lite coats let it dry for 24hr went over it with Alsa Speed Clear worked fine! I was stupid to use it like that a $40 bucks a can after you pop the can and mix the 2 parts you have 1 day to use it up of it gets hard in the can I sprayed on the handels of my borthers rakes hammers hedge trimmers and whatNot to use up the rest of the can If you use Alsa then try to go Alsa TV you know . . . all Alsa all the time! it is way to expensive and toxic to play with! thats why the Killer Chrome kit is nice they sell most of ther paint from there website. |

I LOVE Krylon!!!
I used Krylon Rust-Tough in flat-black on this winter's project. After I get the tank stenciled I'd planned on using one of their chromes for the lettering. Sticker is temporary.

Alsa was the 1st I saw to do a crome paint job on a car with OUT using plating. there 1st one was all fiberglass . This is the one that there famous for fidy-cent's lambo ![]() If you could build and paint 10 crome guitar bodys a month and oh yea sell them ![]() then Cosmichrome by Gold touch inc is the way to go . . . . ![]() now if you just want to try your skill on a guitar your modding out on your patio Alsa's killer cans might be for you.
