Rewiring a la Baja
Hello,
I was thinking of rewiring my tele like a Baja Tele. I have a American Deluxe Telecaster with the S-1 switch. I was going to buy a 4-way switch and redo the wiring like a Baja tele. I will be leaving the stock pickups in, and was wondering if I would need to (or should) change the caps to match those on the Baja? Any help would be appreciated. |

I think they have different caps
Check out Fender's wiring diagrams at http://www.fender.com/support/wiring...arts_lists.php.
The baja uses a .05 cap and the am deluxe w/s1 uses .022.

Sez I, do it with the cap you got and see how you like it. If you play with the tone pot mostly on "10", you probably wouldn't hear the difference.
BUT, after you've played it, if you decide you want it darker, just swap the cap for the .050mf.
