What's the doohickey on the top of Forrest Lee Jr.'s Tele?

I was watching the Forrest Lee Jr. instructional DVD's, and I'm trying to figure out what the lil doohickey is that is sticking out of the top of the upper bout of his blackguard tele. He doesn't explain what it is or what it does and he doesn't seem to have one on his paisley.

You can almost see the thing on the upper bout in this photo. In the video you can see it better.

it's part of his b-bender system (his self made b-bender). That little round doo-hickey spins around when he pulls down on the bender.

I thought that might be what it was, but then again I figured why would one put something up there when the PW Bbender works just fine without one?

Actually, that little doohickey sticking out of the upper bout is the adjustment screw-driver, and that one looks like the one I got from Bill Bores. It has a little hex driver that sits in the hex screw. You tighten the screw to flatten the bent note, and vice versa. If that is the one I believe it is, the little driver does come out.
