blending pickups on '52 Tele RI

I'm thinking about buying the American Vintage '52 Tele RI. One reviewer explains you can't blend the two pickups: you choose from bridge-only, neck-only, and neck-only w/highs rolled off.

Is that really correct?

Thats how the 52'ri, is supplied "new ex- fender", totally original, but also supplied is a Capacitor and wiring diagram to update to the modern switching circuit.

On the Custom Shop Nocaster, it comes wired so that the "tone" control is really a blend or pan control. I kept mine stock and actually like it that way. You can use the blend to dial in just a little of the rhythm pup to take some of the edge off the bridge pup. The Nocaster bridge pup is not as treby as a '52 RI bridge pup, so I really don't miss being able to roll of some highs (as well as some of the "balls") with a traditional tone control.

Thanks, again. I'll be playing a few over the next week or so, and then will decide to buy or not. I assume you like yours very much, right? Everthing I've heard has been great. Thanks again for the feedback, so to speak.

52 RI switching

I've had my 52RI for a few years now, haven't rewired it, but if you place the switch midway between the 'click' positions, you'll get both pickups. When I've hit the sweet spot, my amp's hum changes character slightly.
