Tools needed for assembling a Tele...

...Is there a resource that gives a list of tools necessary for assembling a Tele from scratch? I have some resources that give the steps involved but it would be great if I knew what tools I'll need and have them ready to go. Thanks.

Tom

If you're just assembling a Telecaster from parts ........... what more would you need other than a soldering iron and a screwdriver. Maybe a drill if installing tuners on a new neck and installing a pickguard on a new body.

An old-fashioned 12" long #2 Phillips (or flat, depending on your travel screws) will keep you from damaging your top finish with the screwdriver handle while setting your intonation. You'll also need extremely fine bits to predrill your headstock (half the screw length or so) for the machine head screws. You'll need exactly the right screwdriver bit for the machine head screws. Maple splits rather easily.

Not a problem with Kluson style tuners. They have a built in safety measure. The screw breaks off in the headstock thereby preventing serious damage to the maple.
