I Can't Get No (neck) Relief!

I have a guitar with a neck that is super straight, even when the truss rod nut is completely loosened.

I want to get a little relief - what are my options other than trying a heavier guage string?

If it's a new neck, give it some time. If it's a thick neck, give it some time.

If it's not, you can do like Fuzzy said, or you can put it in a jig that will bend it in the middle a little bit and keep it like that for a while.

For some reason, this brought up some repressed memories. Maybe this was a method of correction that was used on me as a child.

Seriously, though, I assume this is a "summer" technique, in a sweltery garage? Did you leave it in the case, or really open to the elements?
