neck pickup inclination

Hi, Iīve notice that the neck pickup of mi telecaster is slightly inclined towards the neck, I donīt know if this is part of the factory set up, because it came from the factory with this PU inclination, it sounds good, but I donīt know if the guitar would sound even better if the neck pickup was in a 90 degrees angle with the strings.I add some pics to help me explain better what I want to say.

thanks
jaime

...Sumbody made a mistook with the pick guard and/or P/U position.

...Yew will haff tew reset those mounting screws onna P/U forward or adjust the pick guard.

...The eazy way iss tew remove the P/U and re-screw it forward about 1/16".

...Udder than looks it won't hurt a thang li kat.

I have a 62 Strat with the pickups severely slanted because the pickguard has shrunk. I could put on another guard, but it sounds fine as it is so I won't.

I've had Customers Obsess about this...and a quick & easy, is to just whittle a small wooden wedge, to put on the neck side of Pup.

...I wood never dew that!

...Could damage the cover and/or the coil plus be very hard tew replace the pickguard as bad as that won looks.

...JMHO!

your answers opened my eyes,a closer look at the pickguard revealed a excess of tension between the pickguard and the control plate, the pickguard is badly installed and the control plate push the pickguard against the neck pickup,I think I must sand the pickguard in that zone to relieve the tension.I accept suggestions

thank you

...AH HA! A horse of a nutter color.

...If yer pick guard iss that far off then sumbody muss haff replaced it.

...Yew will find the screws won't line up even if yew de shave off sum around the control plate area.

...I wood goard head and shave the area till it fits well and then re-screw the pick guard as needed but then yew will haff a gap behind the neck area.

...I still say a reposition of the tew mounting screws (forward) for the neck P/U are the bess way tew solve yer prollem.

problem solved

Once Iīve sanded the pickguard areas to relieve tension against the neck pick up and once I relocated the neck pick up ,I have a question , where I leave the pickup, close to the strings?, far from these? in the middle? Which is the ideal heigh ?

thanks

...Its up tew yer ears.

...I run mine up as high as the level of the fret board jes below the frets to git a brighter stronger sound.

...Lower is O.K. but yew start tew get a bass sound and a liddo less volume.

...Tew weech hiss zone.
