Help! My Tone control works backwards!

I just wired up a 2- Humbucker Tele with 1 tone and 1 volume control & a 3-way, and my tone pot now rolls off when I turn it clockwise! either I've accidentally slipped into a parallel universe, or I've crossed some wires, but I can't for the life of me figure out which one(s). The wiring looks correct, but then again, I suck at wiring! Can anyone out there point a wayward son in the right direction? Thanks a bunch!

This happens all the time, I've done it myself on more than one occasion. You have to reverse all the wiers on the pot.
If you look at the pot upside down you have three pins where you have solders wiers. Number them one two and three. Two would be the one in the center, anything connected there stays where it is. Anything connected to pin one should be connected to pin three and vice verser. That will solve the problem.

Post a picture of your wiring. It's next to impossible to diagnose someone's wiring mistake without a picture. A picture of the wiring diagram you used would also help. If you used a Seymour Duncan diagram ............ I may know your problem.

Interesting

It never occurred to me that you could customize the knob turn direction for volume and tone as well.....hmmmm, might actually work better for volume and tone swells that way.

The first Esquire I built, I wired up using the schematic on Seymour Duncan's site and ended up twith backwards volume control, but I found I actually liked it that way.

Back to front tone pot wiring

I did the same thing to mine and I love it! It gives me great delight when my mates play it, and it doesn't seem to affect the tone at all.
