i have a japan 70's reissue body, i tried to put an original fender control plat on and it was too short or the control cavity was too long.

is there a difference in size between 50's and 70's control plates?

How long is the control cavity? Who made the body? Sounds like this may be some non-Fender body.

I have somewhere a tele control plate that is slightly oversize.This may be perfect for you.Please measure the width and lenght of the rout and i'll see if this will work.Or wait til MON. and i'll get it from my friends shop and measure it for you.Send a p.m. and i'll contact you later.
