Squire Tele Custom II Bigsby mod.

Hi! I´m about to give my Squire Tele Custom II a facelift and I´m sure a Bigsby B5 tremolo will do good for her. I´ve been asking my local dealer about my issue but the lack of knowledge was obvious. So I turn to you guys and girls here at this forum and hope you can help me. I simply need a bridge that works with Bigsby trem and I can´t use the conversion plate that goes with the conversion kit. The duncan designed picups don´t fit in the plate.

Pm captain twang, he put a bigsby on his custom II like yours. You can use a cut down tele plate with notches in the back..... See me own project HERE

I recommend two approaches that have worked for me:

1) If you go w/a B5 Bigsby, spend a little extra and put in a Mastery Bridge. They'd be perfect for that application. You'll have to figure out how to drill the cup holes for the bridge.

2) Rout it out for a vintage style Strat trem. I've sent three Tele bodies to GuitarMill to have this done. They do a great job. Perhaps someone out your way can do this same type of work?

The best way to do this!

You can find cut-down Wilkinson Tele bridges on Ebay:

- and filing 6 notches is just a matter of a couple of minutes...

Thanks for your answers people! Haven´t decided yet what to do but I´m getting closer to the Wilkinson option. The issue on that one is that it has 4 screwholes (ha,ha. probably the wrong word to use here but hey, I´m from Sweden:))to attach the bridge plate when there´s only 3 on my existing one. Great work Winnie! I like it a lot:)!

That shouldn't be a problem, you just have to drill 4 new holes, and have to make sure that the saddles sit about in the same position as they were before, and still have a bit of adjustment range!

Okay! So there´s enough space between the holes to drill new ones with no risk that it cracks? In that case there´s no question about it! Sounds great!
