Quality of Allparts Hardware

Does anyone have experience with Allparts hardware?

I'm wondering what the quality is like, and/or if it's comparable to current Fender stock OEM parts, etc.

It varies, in the same way Fender parts are sometimes worth using, sometimes not.

They really stock a withering variety of parts; tuners of the same basic concept but of 4 different levels of quality.

I would say, collectively, Allparts offers more parts you and I would find to be top quality, as compared to Stewart MacDonald. But they also offer things I just would never use. There stuff will be even more better quality, compared to GFS, Mighty Mite or WD, but in some instances it turns out to be the exact same part.

I wish I could say something more clear cut. If you want parts you definitely can't go wrong with, you might try those parts made by Mr. Bill Callaham.

I had pretty good luck with a hard tail bridge I ordered from them a while back. It felt heavy and solid, the screws moved free and easy, and it was a perfect match for the Warmoth body I put it on.

what about stock Allparts hardware for a standard Tele build (ie, vintage style tuners, bridge plate, neck plate, control plate and knobs, etc)?

I would suggest that you browse darrenriley.com He has Great service, and deals both in Genuine Fender and Allparts.

I bought some P90 pickup covers and some screws from them. I was satisfied.

I have been using AllParts for years, and I have to say that I've only had an issue once, and it was with creme humbucker rings that had an almost pinkish tint. No biggie. They took them back. Other than that, you just have to know what you are buying. I purchase most of my parts from AllParts, GFS, Fender and a few other sources here and there. Overall, AllParts has been great in quality and service.

I just recently bought an allparts 5 screw pickguard unaware that it was allparts and sent it back !! It was wafer thin and really cheap !! Disappointing to say the least....

The pickguards that don't impress me are the ones from Stew Mac. If you choose with care, I find the Allparts pickguards are very nice, sometimes basically the best of a particular design you can find. Like that 3 ply gloss black "Nashville Tele" pickguard I've shown a couple of here. Three, I think.

I agree, I've gotten 2 from StewMac and the neck cutout was jacked up on both.

I've had good luck with Allparts stuff - I have two local stores that between them stock a good supply of ferrules, saddles, electrosocket jack cups, pickguards, etc. The only iffy item I've gotten is the hardtail bridge I got most recently. It sounds great and works fine - intonates and fits perfectly - but the plating on the saddles is not the best. If I had noticed that before I bought I wouldn't have, nut now that it's on the guitar and the guitar sounds great, I won't fret it. It's definitely an advantage for me to be able to look at the stuff in person, though.

I've been happy with all my purchases from Allparts. The one thing I really hate is the damn packaging. Almost everything is in that shrink wrapped cardboard crap. A small order is ok but when you get 20 pots, 20 output jacks .... drives me nuts.

I've bought two necks, some tele knobs, a pickguard blank, a couple neck plates and some switches from Allparts over the years. Either I don't know any better or it's good enough for me.
