12 String Tele/Strat Partscaster questions
I'm getting close to finishing my first partscaster....body prep, paint and clear and then slap 'er together.
I'm giving thought to a second project, not sure if it'll come to fruition, but here's my thoughts so far: 1) Either a Tele or Strat thinline style body...not sure which manufacturer yet 2) Looks like Warmoth has 12 string necks/nuts...more research needed though 3) Tuners, misc hardware, pick guard and electronics shouldn't be a problem 4) from what I can tell, standard 6 pole pick-ups can be used I'm stuck when it comes to a bridge & saddles....what's available out there? Does it make sense to consider a Strat style hardtail bridge? Am I missing out on anything? I want to keep the costs reasonable.... Toughts? Suggestions? Ideas? Photos? Thanks Tom |

Hi Tom,
Here is a double neck partscaster that has a 12 string on the bottom. I am using the Gotoh 6 and 12 string bridge for this project. I know others have used this too, as well as taking the parts off the 12 string Gotoh bridge and mounting them to a standard tele type bridge. I was going to go this route, but decided to stay with the standard Gotoh. Hope that helps.... ![]() ![]()

I am doing a chambered strat Baritone and a 12 string tele or jazzmaster
for the neck you can also get a 12string at USCG which has a more Fender headstock design, its between the hockey stick and the plain Warmoth. Gotoh make a 12 string bridge. its a combination of string through the body and stringing through the bridge. I have seen the Gotoh saddles adapted to a tele bridge. The pickups i am going for are either lipsticks or G&L Z design. Heres a mock up of my Baritone chambered strat.

Go for it!
I build Tele 12's for friends on occasion. The Warmoth 12 string neck is very nice but a bit wide at the nut for most players. Better to get a paddlehead tele neck you like and cut/drill/finish the headstock yourself. You can use the stock Gotoh 12 string bridge as is without the ashtray look and it works nicely but I hear a difference in the bridge pickup tone without the steel baseplate. I prefer to use the Gotoh intonatable saddles on a modified ashtray or am std type bridge. Here are a few I have done like you mentioned.
