Pots and switches

I want to replace the pots and the switch in my SX STL 50, but I'm not sure which ones to choose.

What brand of pots do you guys like to use for tele style guitars? What about switches? 3 way? 4 way? There is too many choices. I need help.

I like CTS pots and on teles I like 3 way switches. Grab one of these kits any you will be good to go. They also sell 4 way kits and others. All components are high quality:

I had a SX STL50 that I tried to fit full sized pots into. The control cavity was a bit too narrow so I had to go with mini pots. If that's the case with yours, Alpha pots may be your best option.

I would suggest a 4 way if you do it.

Thanks, I didn't think that would be a problem. I guess that's something I need to consider. What about the hole on the control plate? Does stuff for USA teles fit the plate?

Get youself a round file if the pots wont fit the metric holes and gently give them a touch up and the pots will fit. It doesnt take much reaming, its what i have just done to my danelectro to get the CRL's to fit

The control cavity is about 1 3/32" (28mm) wide. How big are CTS 250k solid shaft pots? I can't seem to find the dimensions anywhere.

That seems like it should be plenty big, there not bigger than and inch wide are they?

Thank you all for your responses. I think I'm going to try the 4 way kit from guitarpartsresource.com. I've never bought from them but that looks like a good price for what you get.

Have any of you bought anything from them?

They are a good outfit and to get all of that for under 30 bucks is a good deal too!

You normally pay from $15 -20 JUST for the switch. You'll love the series !

It looks like Mojo and Guitar Parts Resource has the same four way kits except that the Mojo has a ground lug for the rhythm pickup cover. Is this needed if I'm putting the kit on a Squire Butterscotch?
