Get some very light sandpaper, like 600 grit and carefully clean it off. Steel wool will work but it sticks to the magnets.

Also one of the non-retractable Ink pens w/ the hard Grey eraser works quite well, and just leaves a little harmless rubber dust, which you can blow away.
