pickup selector middle position quiet
I got a seymour duncan 54 tele lead bridge and put it in with my texas special neck pickup and in the middle position on the pickup selector where both pickups are on its really quiet. There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with my soldering so it would help loads if anyone knew why this might be. Thanks.

that's because the two pickups wired together that way form a humbucking circuit.

Yep, if that texas special has 3 leads coming from it, this will be the easiest to swap. The wire coming from the pickup cover (sheild) needs to be left alone, however the other two wires need to be swapped.

oh, sorry — now i get it. by quiet, you meant low in volume. i thought you meant quiet as in no hum/buzz/noise, as compared to the pickups by themselves. them boys are probably right about the out-of-phase in that case.
