1960 Esquire wiring help

Greetings

I have my friends esquire with a little problem:

selector position 1 ("neck position") - silent
middle position - tone pot acts as volume pot, volume pot acts as tone pot (does not seem to have a full tone pot function... it lowers the highs just a little bit)
bridge position - tone pot acts as volume pot, volume pot no function

we have replaced the tone pot but this does not help...
anybody can tell us what might be wrong here?

The Fender website has wiring diagrams,just click on support,then choose wiring diagrams,then Telecaster.They have the diagram for the 50's Esquire RI,maybe that will help you.Good luck

everything seems correctrly wired. we have also compeared with the diagramms from SD... possibly one component is broken... but which?

Is it an original 1960 Esquire with original pickups? Maybe if you posted a good picture or two on here,under the control plate,somebody might can help you better.

it si an all original 1960 Esquire (SN 56XXX)



However, problem is now solved... there was a broken Volume Pot... replaced with correct Pot and the Guitar works perect as in the 60ties
