tele, weird rattle behind nut, tuners??

hi,
i've got a warmoth vintage style tele and am getting some weird unplugged sympathetic type buzz/rattle, that seems to be coming from the kluson tuners, possibly the bushings on the g and b strings, though i'm not totally sure and don't have any valid reason for thinking this, just a hunch!
The neck was predrilled for klusons so the drill holes were spot on.
I really don't think its the nut thats causing the problem,
when I hold down a part d chord at the 10th fret to check, I got a friend to hold down the tuners and the buzz went away!
What can I do?
cheers,
mal.

Next time you change strings, I would remove all the tuners, and check to see if the pressed in bushings are snug in the headstock...That would be my starting point.

check your strap buttons. They can drive you nuts chasing it down...

Also make sure the screws are tight enough. I had unidentifiable buzz trouble on a Telecaster that turned out to be a broken part on one tuner - couldn't see it and everything seemed tight strung up. Different kind of tuners than you have, but check them out with the strings off. And good luck.

thanks guys,
i'm going to try all the things you all say, though I have tightened everything up including the strap buttons, i've even took the strap off, so at least thats one thing I can rule out...
I think i'll take all the tuners off when I next restring it and possibly swap them around!
very annoying though.
mal...
