already posted this in the pickup forum never thought about this but found it in a forum.2 volume controls would blend between pickups... then whats something cool you could do with the switch?

Why not, and it's easy to put back. For schematic use LP circuit and leave the tones out. Suggest you double the value of the current vol pot because two vols cut the tone. Use normal tele 3-way but series would be more complicated.

Tried using a blender knob from stewmac + a regular volume pot, then you can do away with the switch and add a tone knob if you want to. The blender knob is full volume on both pickups when its in the middle.

I have four instruments with 'LP' 4-knob type controls. The two volumes are used to balance one pickup against the other, or to pre-set rhythm and lead volumes. I have experimented on my 2xSC frankenstein with various controls including dual vol: I reverted to a more conventional configuration, preferring the sound of series connection: the sc pickups are balanced by height adjustment. Whilst playing, I do prefer the simplicity of the normal tele two knob system.
