Tru-oil - Available in Canada?

A very limited search hasn't found a source here in Toronto.

A google search suggested trying gun shops. Don't know of any of those near the center of the city.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Geoff

Did you try the sports/hunting department at Wal-Mart?

Is Lovetts Shooting Supply still open?

There's always Epps on the main highway in Orilla.

What you'll find at Elwood Epp's and other gun shops is just called gun stock oil for the most part. Its the same thing, just different brand names in most cases.

I've read on another forum that Tru-Oil is a type of polimerized tung oil... which you can get just about anywhere. But like I said, I read it and don;t know how accurate the other persons info is.

Wrong.

Tru-oil is a linseed based oil. Not a Tung Oil. Tru-oil builds up quicker, dries harder and shines up better. Tung Oil takes a lot longer to cure and is harder to get a real shine. The feel is different as well. Personally, I like the feel of Tung Oil better and I find it easier to use. But it may not be for everyone. YMMV.
