Waylon Tone

Hi all, I have a tele that I'm fixing up to be a Waylon Jennings replica. I'm having a little trouble getting the tone I want. I am looking into the Duncan five-two pickups and was wondering if they would give me the Waylon tone that I'm looking for. If not, does anyone know what will?

Thanks

There's a Waylon thread 'round here somewhere...

I think somebody says he put EMG's in it....

You probably want a phlanger pedal or you could use the blue pedal by line 6, I can't remember the name of it, but you can get that waylon sound. I don't think there's a pup that will give you that sound.

To me Waylon's sound is synonimous w/
the Small Stone. Classic 70's country

EMG-T

Thanks for all the info, I actually have found what I was looking for, I will be using the EMG-T pup set. I have a phaser that does good with Waylons phased stuff, but the stuff he did unphased just don't sound right on my Tele. Also I am making a replica and wanted to replicate the whole thing.

Thanks again, you've all been very helpful

You won't be disappointed it that EMG-T set. I used 'em in a custom Strat I built and they were dead nuts Tele sounding.
