First Thin Line Build, Body finishing next..

45 year old Pine back with [we think] Birch 5/16" 2 piece top.

A lot more work than a solid body, and a lot work than I expected.

3.2 lbs currently.

It's looking real nice, well worth the extra work!

If your taking suggestions for a finish, I'm voting for a trans red along the lines of either of these Ron Kirn guitars. Sorry but since seeing those they've put a deep imprint in my mind.

Birch is a great wood for a painted finish.

I am still on the fence on the color. I wnat to try a faux binding with either that red mahogany Gibson SG back and side with a light color top.

The grain in the birch is nice, so transparent red was my first thought. 2nd thought was yellow or orange with a dark back and side with the faux binding. But I have 2 solid pine going too, one Yellow Custom, and a mustard blended with yellow to make blond for an Esquire.

Thanks for the complements folks. ;)
