Different pot taper?

All-
Lately, I've been trying to use my volume pot more.

I use a standard 250K audio taper on my tele, but I'm wondering if there's anything out there with a more "Gradual" taper?

What I'm finding is that I can only get useable gig volume at about 80% or above, and it's pretty hard for me to operate in that small space. I'd really rather have something that is more gradual (i.e., those usable volume levels spread out over more degrees of the sweep of the pot). It wouldn't even matter to me if all the way counterclockwise wasn't completely "Off".

I feel like I'm doing a terrible job of explaining what I mean, but maybe some of you will get it.

Are there any options?

No, it makes sense. And while we're at it, how about some suggestions for the tone control, that only seems to go from good to mud in a quarter turn.

Here’s a quote from that link:

“Our custom taper gives smooth even response throughout the range of motion. You will not experience any steep drop-offs or uneven taper.”

Isn’t that the opposite of what I want? How is that not just describing a linear taper pot? I think what I want is like an audio taper pot, but more so.

Or maybe I have it completely backwards
