Intonation
So I have an 05 American deluxe with locking tuners and deluxe saddles. And I can't seem to get my intonation just right. Mostly the issue is with the G string. Paying quite sharp in the first few frets even though the intonation at the 12th is right on. Gets quite frustrating. Anyone help me out on this one?

There's deep discussion of this at the Earvana web site.
There's also a thread here about an article written by Mr. Jerry Donahue who talks about making adjustments and compromises to reduce outward manifestations of bad intonation. Intonation is just one factor in my decision to switch mostly to 11-49s. I agree the best possible nut and tuner choices can reduce the problem, but I'm intrigued that such a big majority of these problems are that cowboy "G". A couple of extry winds round the post on the G ( and a little on the D, too ) will not hurt, either.
