Touch up advise C.A.R. Nashville

My son's tele has a couple of good chips in the finish. Only the red is chipped, the gold underneath is unharmed. What kind of paint can be used to touch up a few small chips ? Thanks in advance...

Since the gold is still intact, Duplicolor Metal-Cast Red might do the trick. It's a transparant red. You could spray it into a cup and try drop filling. Here it is sprayed on silver (left) and gold (right). As you add more it's going to get darker so if you get a good color match you should stop and use something else as a clear coat.

Thanks Jack!!! I'm gonna give it a shot.
Will super glue work as a clear... or will it react in a bad way with the paint?

Is the Metal-Cast paint a lacquer?

I think all Dupli-Color paints are acrylic lacquer. As you may or may not know, they are made by Krylon. In my correspondence with a Krylon representative, I was told that there are no plans to reformulate the Dupli-Color line.
