Tone problems?

I have one of those 72 custom ri Squires with the humbuckers and the tone is awful. The tone pots seem to work they go from bad to worse. There is no treble in this guitar. It sounds like the tone has the treble turned down but gets worse when you do turn it down. I bought it off ebay used somebody had turned the neck pickup around backwards I changed it back and it is better but still not right. Any ideas?

Change the pots out. If you have 250's go 500's. If you have 500's go to 1 meg.

+1

You do realize a humbucker has a much bassier tone than a single coil. Increasing the pot values will brighten them up. Decreasing the tone cap value will do the same thing. There are tons of posts here about using 500k and 1M pots with 'buckers. Good luck!
