How can I do this? (HSS Pots/Capacitor)

Hey all!

I am building a three pickup tele. Humbucker in the neck, and single coils in the middle and bridge. I know I should use 500k pots for the humbucker and 250k for the single coils, but how can I do this?

I've looked at the wiring for the Fat Tele and see that they use a resistor, but that is for a two pickup tele. Do I add another resistor for the middle pickup? And how do I use different value capacitors for the Humbucker and the single coils.

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I just finished a HSS Strat (fat strat) Warmoth project. I opted for 500K pots. The cap I'm currently using is .22mfd. The 500K pot keeps the humbucker sounding good but I do back off on the tone for two singles.

You can find a good diagram on the Seymour Duncan site.

like this: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support...2s_1v_1t_5w_as

But, I'd use 500K pots and a 5 way switch.

Yeah, just go with 500K pots. That's what everyone does. And if it's too bright on the singles, roll down the tone knob a bit.

Could go with 250 k pots but not run the neck humbucker through the tone pot. When are you really going to back tone off of a neck humbucker? Plus it will brighten up the neck bucker a little. worth a try.

To do this the wire that runs from the tone pot lug to the volume pot lug needs to be changed to run from the tone pot lug to the bridge pup lead lug on the switch.
