Can a 52 OV Neck RI Pup be pickguard mounted?

Dont know if I want to start drilling the body...
Just bought a mint green guard with mounting
screw holes and I have a set of OVs on the way...
I am thinking mount it to a plate and tap holes...
But plastic or metallic??
or Nuts glued to screw holes on the pups?
any ideas??
Lost my attention to detail on this PUP purchase

If the OVs are new and their screw holes unmolested, maybe the holes in the pickup will directly support the Fender spec pickguard mount screws: machine screws, thread size 4-40, the length of the threads is 5/8 inch, and they have an oval philips head. There's enough room typically in the neck pup cavity for the screw thread length to be longer. You should be able to find 4-40 machine screws easily at any good hardware store.

Yep, no problems. You just need springs or surgical tube to mount it - not a worry.

Had to make a mounting plate from a popsicle stick
and washers to get the height adjustment range correct...
Bought these PUPs on TDPRI...
Holes were flangeless and bored open with no threads at all.
provided screws were wood screws but different
one phillips, one slotted
got them installed. but thank god for my
ability to improvise hardware

PS....OVs do sound sweet

If the holes in the base of the pickup are too large for tapping for the machine screws, I like the idea of glueing nuts on the bottom of the pickup. My Keystone pickups have a small threaded insert that slips into the hole for pickguard mounting. It can be removed for body mounting. I'd never seen these before. Don't know where you'd find them.

Here's what they look like .......... pretty small.

jack

that was my first idea...

but then I remembered how some hardware
i worked on in the past had a threaded hole
backplate where at least two screw holes
are present that prevent rotation of the plate when tightening...

plus once i started....i didnt wanna wait for glue to dry

I did the "add nuts" idea on a brass plate once before...
i soldered brass nuts on with a torch
soldering iron was not enough horse power>>>
