Will this bridge fit on this guitar?

CHROME IMPORT
SQUIER TELE BRIDGE
005-5104-000
Genuine Fender/Squier Telecaster bridge. Chrome finish with satin saddles. Strings through body. Includes mounting screws. 2-1/8" string spacing.

I would like my Squier Avril Lavigne Telecaster to look more like an Esquire. First step, I will change the pickguard, either solid black, or solid white.

Then I would like to change the bridge, which would allow me to use a single-coil Tele pickup, such as a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder.

Then I guess I need to change the pot to a 250k, and I am not sure what to do about the switch.

Will this bridge work? Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

The humbucker route will show.

And actually, someone posted here a few days ago that the humbucker route is actually 3/8" (or something like that) off from where it normally is.

If you really want a single-coil black on black Esquire, I think you should've started with a Squier Standard Tele, not the Avril. The only differences are the presence of a tone knob, location of the jack, and the inlays.

Hard to say not knowing much about the AL guitar. Is it string through? The humbucker route would probably show on the sides of the single coil bridge.

What pickguard are you looking for? I have a black MIM 50's Esquire with a single ply white (or is it Parchment?) guard and would love to have that pickguard on it!

I am sure I have seen these for single coil tele bridge pickups but I can't for the life of me find them.This is for a Mustang

esteban and jwells393 are correct, the humbucker rout will show on the sides. Some of it will likely also show above the bridge. If you're lucky you can get the top two corners of the bridge on a bit of wood, but there probably won't be enough wood to use those top two screw holes.

I did a similar mod to a Squier Tele Special. Not sure if its' HB rout is in exactly the same position as yours relative to the distance of the rout from the string end, but it's probably close. My first experiments with that, and a similar one of boris bubbanov's are shown and described in this thread.

After those experiments I thought the bridge pickup had a Strat-like "quack" in the modified position so I enlarged the rout by carving it with a Dremel and relocated the pickup. That eliminated the quack. I posted some about that here.

I didn't take pics after I relocated the pickup, but the location and the exposure of the HB rout is like the one

here.

I kept mine without the pickguard, and the bridge I used is a Custom Shop American bridge. But I compared how one of those bridges you pictured would fit and the fit was about the same in terms of width, length and the exposure of the HB rout.

I like the sound of this Tele much better with a single coil in the bridge instead of a humbucker, and so I'm living with the HB rout showing. One day I might fill in the excess space in the rout with some plastic wood so the bridge has a better foundation and touch up the paint. But for now it's a good player.

The pickup rings like the one martyb1 showed that I've seen are made for Strat type pickups. The angle and size of the hole isn't right for a Tele bridge single coil. But if you want to go a similar route, you could make one like boris did from the top half of a Tele vintage style bridgeplate, he showed it in that first thread I linked. But in my opinion the simplest installation centered in the old HB rout is likely to give you a quack tone. And when you position it the correct distance from the string end, then some of the top of the humbucker rout will be exposed.

Here's a picture of those. Look at the number and position of the pickup mount screw holes. Like the one martyb1 showed, those are also for Strat size/style pickups.

I actually have one of those for a Tele pickup. I can tell you that the sides of the humbucker rout will still show if you put one on.

I had a bit of free time yesterday so I got out a piece of aluminum and got creative(well kinda)
From looking at the pic of the AL tele,the humbucker route must be pretty tight to be covered with just the pickup ring,so I took a humbucker cut bridge and traced out where the pickup would be relative to the string through holes.Then I took a hum pickup ring and marked the ring mounting holes and drilled them.I then layed a vintage bridge on top and traced the single coil pickup hole,and then cut it out and drilled the pickup mounting holes.I made this wide enough to hopefully cover and pickup route.I contacted rhh7 and got the measurement from the rear pickup ring holes to the front lip of the bridge,and then cut it about 1/16" shorter than that.
Hey,it's by no means perfect because I did most of it with the drill press and a dremel,but it should let him try a single in the bridge without having to drill any extra holes,as long as the single will fit in the route

I bought some of these. Allparts. The 4 holes at the corners are frankly a tad too far apart to be compatible with most typical humbucker ring holes. Made in Japan.
