Correct Deduction

Ok, I've got a set of Keystones on a Tele, and I've got a 4 way switch where position one is bridge, position two is parallel, position three is neck, and position four is series.

I've got function, correct function on positions 1,2 and 4. These all sound great, BTW. Four is louder than two, kinda stacked sounding. One and Two sound normal, and when the pup polepieces are tapped on, I get good sound out of both sets in 2 and 4 and good sound out of the bridge polepiece only in position 1. Position 3 gets me a very faint impulse, neck only.

I think I got rosin flux on the wiper, just enough in one area where position 3 continuity is spoiled.

Does this make sense; everything else seems to check out, and I can already see and feel that durned stuff on there?

Anyone have any cleaning agent in mind for removing rosin gone amok off of chromed metal?

Alcohol will dissolve rosin flux. I know you got a couple cans of denatured around...

Make sure also that the little clip making contact with the rotating wiper is clean and makes good contact. Try poking it with a toothpick to see if that helps the connection.

Thank you, doc.

That sounds like just what is needed!

I'll use a Q-tip with denatured on the wiper and the contacts.

It worked

I'll make a second pass at it, as the neck output is still a bit too low next to the two pickups in series, but it'll do.

Muchas Gracias.
