bigsby problem
After the recent bigsby related thread, it got me thinking about mine. It is not a real bigsby but its identical to a real one. whenever I bend upwards, the spring pops out and lodges itself slightly out of its pocket, causing the guitar to go out of tune, and when I pop it back it is perfectly in tune again. does anyone else have this problem, and if so how do i fix it?

Not to sound flippant, but don't pull up....or at least not as hard or as high as you're pulling. I've never had any problems just wiggling a Bigsby, but I never really pull up on them. I mainly use them to detune notes or for a slight warble.

I've had that problem, but only if I pull pretty far up.
You can try adding a spacer (plastic washer) to the pocket at the opposite end of the spring. that'll push the sping into the end you're worried about a little more. You could try to open that end of the spring up. Maybe a reamer or a ring sizer could open it enough to press it against the inside of the pocket a little better... Let me know how you make out.
