Magnets Alnico / Ceramic

Is there a correlation to matching PUP to Speaker in the magnet dept.?

Do Alnico PUP sound better through Alnico speaker and Visa-Versa?

Is this an OK to post this thread, kind of PUP and speaker, but Tele tech related pretty much. ;)

yes there is a correlation.

The reasons for choosing alnico pickups apply to speaker selection as well.

If vintage tone and compression is is desirable in a pickup, then vintage tone and compression is desirable in a speaker.

If you like modern aggressive sounding ceramic pickups you would probably want a modern aggressive sounding speaker

mixing is fine too but in general

No, there's no need to match speakers and pickup magnets. They both do different jobs and don't interact in any way other than each individually shaping tone.

Besides, some people have guitars with mixed magnet types.
