stripped tuner screw removal
I'm trying to remove some tuners and two screws are stripped and they are on there! I would like to re use the tuner if possible... what is the best method for removal?

If you don't mind having an ugly screw or replacing the screws(they're stripped anyway) you can take a dremel tool and use the little saw wheels to grind a flathead type screw head deeper into the screw. Be careful and cover up what you don't want scuffed.
You can also take some needle nose pliers and carefully "turn" it out.

What sort of tuner are we talking about .............. guess it doesn't really matter. Here's another option. Grind off the screw head completely. That will allow you to remove the tuner. You'll have a little part of the screw protruding from the headstock. Grab that with Vice-Grips and remove it.

They are klusons... I got it out with needle noses and used a new screw when I reinstalled... all good.
Thanks for the help... I felt pretty dumb reading your advice... I had all those tools sitting 2 feet away and I was just paralyzed... now I'm back on the road.. thanks guys!
