Pickup Idea for my Tele

G'Day FellowGroovers!!

This is my 1st post here and I sure am impressed by what I have read so far.

Anyway, I hope someone here may be able to assist me with my present project.

I am building my 1st electric guitar with a certain sound in mind.

For the body I have used New Guinea Rosewood. A really nice orange wood which gives a very bright sound from all reports I've had. I have not made a decision on the neck yet and am open to suggestions!!!!

I am looking for a high sustaining mellow distorted sound from my bridge pickup. I am considering a Seymour Duncan hot rail humbucker. I have used one of these before in a strat I once had and with my Marshall Amp it gives me the sustain I want for lead and the crunch for rhythm.
However, I am asking for suggestions here too, because the pickup I am talking about I used 15 yr ago. If there is something newer or more advanced I am interested in knowing about it.

The neck pickup is a quandry for me. All I know is that I want a single coil pickup which has bite and gives that traditional Tele sound. Any suggestions?????

Wiring wise, I am thinking of putting in a mini switch so I can switch the humbucker into a single coil at a flick of the mini switch. The idea here is that I can mix the neck pickup with the single coil of the humbucker to try and get that strat sound (for want of a better expression) in the middle "main" switch position.

I will only have 2 volume knobs for each pickup and no tone knobs are envisaged.

So can anyone suggest a better pickup than a SD hotrail for the bridge? And what pickup would you suggest for the neck pickup? because I have little idea atm.

Thanks for any help in advance
