It is amazing that you not only saved that guitar, Bucko, but it looks great; unique, there's not another in the world that's like it.

I can string it out and tease you all for the next several days...but I need to get a life and do something else for a few days.

I'll get back to the "How to build a Sparklecaster" soon...I promise.

Tonight I have just completed a marathon 6 hour screw together, cut a nut, photography, and setup session.

I'm bushed.

I'm also pretty darn proud.

Back in early June we were here.

To tell you the truth, I wasn't very optimistic...and was just about ready to scrape it all off and try again.

But my friend Bob the Painter gave me some encouragement, you all gave me some tips, Bob the Painter put a bit of his life into it...

Now...if it just has sounds like it looks!

Steve, once again you have shown us your talent for creating another beautiful Telecaster!! So how much to do binding and paint a sparkler Pine body for your ol pal Arlo?? :-)

Thanks kids.

You know, my ego thrives on your comments.

So you want some more?

How about some 100% PURE Sparklecaster porn?

and

There's something about that combination of sparkles and binding that reached out and grabbed my throat one day.

Buck and Don...I can't thank you enough!

Now...

now, I have to do something about this!

I'm going to try to reclaim at least a part of my life for a few weeks.

Of course, the garage, where the wood is cut and routed looks much, much, much worse. I may have to call in a professional for that!

Whats the use in cleaning up, when you know it will not be long until you begin another project and get wood shavings everywhere again???

hehe

Got to clean up!

This whole thing has gotten the better of me.

This is the floor under my table saw...which this summer has really been nothing more than a router table/oscillating drum sander support.

It's hard to even get the Race NEON in it's stall...and when I do, there isn't much room to walk...

besides, I think I have enough bodies cut out to keep me busy for a while.

Looks like about 2 days worth of cleaning!

Looks like you need a full dumpster, wheel barrow, snow shovel and push-broom. Don't forget to wear a dust mask!

WOW! look at all those bodies! Hummmm, I wonder what's coming up next?

Very inspiring indeed.

I showed your working place to my wife to justify the disorder in mine

The positive side is that she told me that I was missing a sparkle Tele in my collection...

Indeed

Bucko--your work and this thread inspired me to build this guitar (more photos in my gallery). Thank you so much for all your pictures and instructions (including what not to do), on this thread and your many others. I would have never tried to do a metalflake, and I am sure my end result would have been much worse, without your guidance. Keep 'em coming!

I've thoroughly enjoyed your amazing contribution. It's awesome.

I've noticed that the Tele's in the guitar stand all face left. Is there a reason for that? I know it's a silly question, but for some reason I can't let it go.

I use that same type of stand on stage...putting the guitar in that way puts the cord jack to the outside...so I can leave a cord plugged in while it is in the stand...

...of course, with a cord plugged in, there is a chance that somebody might trip over it...

but that is the reason.

Great guitars AGAIN! You do a mighty fine job of them too. I can't wait to see what you come up with on those double neck bodies. I'm hoping to build a guitar one day, but I'm moving house at the mo and have to get myself a studio set up before I can even think about constructing guitars. I'll live out my fantasy in your excellent pictures and descriptions of your fantastic builds. Keep up the good work :)

Hey kids...I just wrote up the process of maching bodies for flush ferrules in the Doublecaster Project build thread. I mention it here because I also worked on some new Sparklecaster (aka Son of Meloncaster) bodies.

All of my work is based upon this ferrule primer by Ron Kirn. If you haven't looked at Ron's primer, you should.

Ron's tips and technique work!

They're bonafide!

I have to admit that when you got the glitter out and the guitar was in its early stages I thought that it looked completely hideous and girly but now that it's finished I'm amazed by its look and its coolness. Congrats and thanks for taking us along on the ride...
