Tuner ream sizes (tele vs peavey predator)
I wound up buying a Peavey Predator this weekend. (I needed a wah and a small amp for my gf's boy, and a guy has those, plus the guitar for $100.)
I am curious. I did tuners on the tele I built. I had to put bushings on them to fit the warmth neck I had. Does anyone: -a- know the tuner ream size for a mid 90s USA predator, and; -b- have any tried and true method for buying tuners that actually fit the guitar you are buying them for? It seems like lots of people wind up having to over-ream them or get a different bushing, or whatever. |

There are only two hole sizes for machine heads and they're both metric: 9mm and 11mm
(clearance for 8.7mm and 10.7mm). If you make the clearance hole too tight you can split the headstock. you do not make a 10.0mm hole for a 10.0mm post. The larger size will accept the smaller post with a bush. Typical tuner dimensions .
