BluesBlooded second build. (video)

Hi Everyone,

They are so many builds going around here its impossible to keep up reading them all and its not even build challenge season. Yet, I'm going to add another thread to the bulk. Sorry

My goals for this second build are:

-Make a guitar from a plan (I bought ready made template for my first one)
-Try something not to common
-Set neck
-Angled headstock
-Humbuckers
-Make my own fretboard
-Shape the neck manually
-Press the frets in.
-Inlay a logo
-Spray a finish.

I make videos of my builds. They are silent. The text is in french, but I added English subtitles. So remember to turn them on.

In this first video, I show the wood I will use for the body and the jigs I made.

1-Fret slot jig
2-Fretboard radius jig
3-Radiused sanding block.

Here we go!

Select 1080p, full screen and enjoy!

Body shaping

In this video, I prepare the wood, plane, joint, glue, mark, cut and shape the body.

At last, I let my ROSS take control and trow my perfectly shaped body on the table. Good thing the ross was oriented this way, otherwise it would have thrown it on the floor

Thanks Clsatt! Just read your build post. You wont learn much here. Still glad you enjoy the videos.

Wow! Can you put this last video over in the "DIY tool shed" there's a thread started that's nothing but scarf joint jigs and fixtures and you have a few really nice ones here.

Hey BluesBlooded. C'est tres interessant! Some great jigs there. I'll be following this one, too. Thanks for making it a video. It captures, pour moi, details that photos don't capture as well.

Neck templates

In this video I create my second set of neck templates.

The first one which you will catch a glare at the beginning did not work properly. The integrated tenon was not perfectly straight and symetric on both sides.

Furthermore, the neck blank was a bit short. I decided to change my approach and do the tenon in two stages instead of one.

Remember to turn on the caption for english subtitle
