Red Flame Build
I wanted to stop by and post the finished production of "Red Rock City", again I truly am thankful for the all the knowledge that is present here on a daily basis. What a great place to find a hobby that I love so much! I'll post some better photo's when I get the lights working in Wisconsin.

That is a Hot looking axe! Damn clever using the wave form too! It is a really sexy package, but it is still classy. Very cool.
Do you mind sharing what dye or stain you used to get that shade of red? |

It's a shame you put that beautiful wood and that beautiful red on a tele. Would have made a killer SG.

The good news is that if you play it, you won't care what shape it was slapped into, the fralins are some of the best blues sounding pickups I've used! No fear though Last edited by _nicholas; February 8th, 2013 at 10:16 AM. |

Nicholas,
I'm working on a non traditional LP Jr/Special double cut that is getting a maple top, and I was going finish it trans red. When I saw your thread I thought aha this is the perfect color. Did you use Gibson trans red? Judging color on a monitor is sketchy, but your guitar appears brighter than the traditional Gibby trans red. If you'd share, I'd love to know how you achieved the transparent red. Did you dye black first, sand back, and then shoot your trans red followed by clear coats? Thanks! |
