Classic vibe neck change
Ok so I love my Classic vibe BUT I really want to give it a maple neck. I love the tone and the look of them. What would you guys suggest? I've looked into the mighty mites and warmoth.

Hey it's your guitar so makes it exactly the way you like it. That's the wonderful thing about the CV line is that they are very easy modify and you don't have an arm and a leg into them to begin with. I've done a little on mine that I picked up used and still have less into it than a new one would run.
Here's another source for necks that some of the custom builder prefer. You can add them to your list to research.

In my limited experience modding Fender-style guitars, Warmoth necks are much higher quality. Mighty Mite isn't bad but they usually need some fret work and some people are put off by the cheap plastic nut that they come with (easily replaced though). Best of luck!

Just be aware that a lot of what you love about the guitar might have to do with the neck. The tone can be affected if you change the neck.
If I was to replace it I would just put a Classic Vibe Maple neck on it. Search for Classic Vibe Tele neck on Ebay, you can find them for under $150. I would think the CV neck would be better than Mighty Mite and cheaper than a Warmoth. |
