Trouble with Tone Guard pickguards...

Hi,

has anyone ever dealt with http://www.tone-guard.com/?
The gold anodized pickguards look gorgeous, so I want one. I ordered and paid for one 5 weeks ago, but still received no pickguard. I emailed him twice, last week and 2 days ago again, but no response.
What should I do? Anyone else experienced trouble?

regards,
s.h.

LAWSUUIT! Just kidding... I think you best bet is to keep firing off e-mails, and try calling them.

How did you pay for it? If PayPal, I would start the complaint process before your time runs out (45 days?)

It'll be OK - I have a Tone-Guard pickguard, and it took a while too. But it's perfect, worth the wait. Don't worry, it'll get there.

I ordered one for my Tele back in May and I'm still to receive it or hear anything from Wayne (ToneGuard), I've sent emails through his website, personal email and messaged him on facebook (which has been updated since I ordered so he's been active on there) and had no luck whatsoever.
I looked at registering a dispute with PayPal but it was beyond the 45 days - as you know Wayne says 3-5 weeks for delivery so thats no good. The only thing you can do use chargeback through your bank account that paypal goes through.
Wayne seems like a good guy from other peoples feedback, and apparantly he has some family issues at the moment which has delayed orders so thats understandable. If you check out the link below you'll see my thread on offset guitars on the subject:

http://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/...ic.php?t=60271

I've decided just to wait it out-as Walter said, he heard nothing then it just arrived one day. I'm sure it will be fine, I'm just not a fan of paying for something and hearing nothing in response-not the way to run a business. Sorry if that sounds harsh, it takes a minute to write 'sorry mate, been delayed-you'll get it soon'..

Hi Guys and Gals,

Wayne from Tone-Guard here. Yes, we've been slow on getting some orders out recently due to my mother's battle with cancer; she passed last Friday. We have also experienced a growth spurt here, had to replace a retiring vendor (our cutter). All is good now. Thanks to all who ordered and have been patient. We have issued refunds to all who requested one. We are adding some 14 new designs this week and next. Including; '72 TeleThinline, Tele Deluxe, '69 Thinline w/ Humbucker, TeleMaster and more.

We are back on track on building up inventory for quick shipping. Thank for your understanding and support during this difficult time.

May Your Tubes Glow Brightly,

Wayne

i finally received a mail today and he said that my pickguard will be shipping today! his mother was battling cancer for many months and died last week, and he apologized for the delay.

anyways, he seems like a good guy and i don't want this thread to leave a bad impression about him or his work.
seems like he simply had a terrible time in the past months, but that could happen to anyone.

Hi Thomas, Found your order. I have the 5 hole version in stock. I'll have the 8 hole version you ordered sent to the anodizer on Wed. It will take maybe a week before then shipping it to you in the UK.

BTW, The difference in the 5 hole vs 8 hole version is of course the 3 holes, but did you know that a 5 hole vintage merely covers up the more modern 8 pattern, all holes align perfectly if it was made by Fender or a Fender OEM part.

Just wanted you to know in case you'd rather I ship it on Monday.

Thanks so much for your patience and understanding.

Best, Wayne

Hi wayne,if you could send the 5 hole version on monday that would be great-i'm not fussy about having the 8 hole guard-i've used both 5 and 8 on my tele and either is fine-i've got a 8 hole on at the moment so i just ordered what i had already-it'll probably look nicer and more vintage with the 5 anyway! Thanks very much for letting me know. Kind regards Thom

Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum, and was hoping to get a reply from Wayne about a pick guard I ordered back in July. I understand He had some family issues, but I have not been able to get a response from him about my order after numerous emails and phone calls. I'm hoping he may see this and get in touch with me like he did before with another person that had a similar problem. Wayne, if you're out there, help a brother out!!
