Mini HB question
I'm planning my first tele build, inspired by Albert Collins. I've read that a mini HB is a good idea because it retains some of the high end and snap of the tele. Is that true?
And if so, can anyone recommend a good one? OK, I guess that's 2 questions... Bob |

I'm a fan of the original Gibson minis and I put one in at the neck of my Harlequaster. I wouldn't say it has much resemblance to a Tele neck p'up, I just like 'em anyway. I also built a LP sort-of-Deluxe a couple of years ago and I love that guitar. My first Gibson (in 1981) was a '69 Gold Top Deluxe, sadly long gone but I have fond memories with that one. I think the Fender Hod Rod Tele has a Seymour Duncan 'Firebird' type of mini and maybe that'll suit you? You pays your money and...................

I have a Mini HB in my Tele in the neck. I really love it over the standard Tele neck pickups. I have it wired w/ a mini toggle to give me different tonal scopes, taking advantage of the 4 wire configuration.
I use Klein pickups on my Tele as well as my Strats. |
