I've been done for a week or two. I still haven't cleaned the shop and put tools up. I was so afraid of not finishing I worked day and night, mostly fixing what I had done the night before. I am going to concentrate on necks now that you guys taught me to make them. I have several bodies already cut with nothing in mind yet.

I could not keep up with all the builds. Looking forward to the compilation.

guitarisconstructus syndrome

Well I finished a week ago and have been fishing and crabbing for most of that time trying to clear the head, and the fishing has been crap and the crabbing has as well but I did managed to catch crabs late last week.

That'll be enough from you Phil, my reference to crabs was the mud variety. Haven't cleaned up the shed yet Lord knows it looks like the local tip with power tools.

Something extremely disturbing happened today whilst waiting for something to take the bait................................my poor demented brain suddenly came up with a whole new guitar concept never seen before (or even befive ) and, though I swore I wasn't going to build another for a long time, I know that I have to do this one.

Can one be innoculated against this disease?

Scopolamine works for gas, but you won't remember anything else either.

Well, I was blown away by the concept and execution of your

I just noticed a typo in the lyrics: it's supposed to be "Yo dawg,
I heard you like guitars.." (not You dawg).

Those words are based on an internet meme that started
(so I hear) from the host of Pimp My Ride. Here's the lyrics:

----

We had a simple plan
A site to make guitars, all right!
Maple blank, alder plank, got a router table
But without a plan, many came but few were able

From down under come Hawley
From on above came Downs
Different lands, different plans, this what they said:
With a body and a neck, you'll surely get ahead

Yo dawg, I heard you like guitars
So I put a guitar on your guitar so you can jam while you jam
(x2)

He had a quirky plan
Etched in black and white, all right!
I think we owe, so I'll show what makes this forum go
I'll modge some tele plans right on a tele so they'll show

(chorus)

----

Hope I remembered correctly that Ed Hawley is Australian.

I have a honey-do list almost as long as my challenge build list. I guess making a couple of 5e3 cabs is out of the question.

I'd like to say that this year's event was even more spectacular than it has been in the previous years. It's been a pleasure working with such a professional group of luthiers.

Well, I'm honoured, Glenn, thanks! Very cool.

So anyway, earlier in the contest everyone got to discussing how messy their shop was getting. I'm guessing a lot of us haven't cleaned up yet.

I propose a mini (and completely illegal) contest to decide the winner of messiest shop.

Post your pics here.

Winner gets a weeks stay at my place. Second gets two weeks.

(Its rigged, I know I'm going to win. Believe me, I know).

Are you kidding? messiest shop?
How about messiest environment?

If only I was able to contain the mess to a single space.
I left a path of carnage from the shed all the way to the trunk of my car, and the house is between the two of them.

I think he's from New Jersey, but I'll gladly deem him an honorary New Zealander if that helps.

I have to say that I feel like such a fool for misreading the video deadline, and assuming it was midnight not noon, all I had left was to wire the pots. Fool, fool, fool, ah well, my fault. There's always next year.

Bummer, Joe.

I didn't understand why the vid needed to be done before the actual build deadline, but ours is not to reason why, I guess.

Congrats to everyone on the fantastic 2012 Challenge. I had a great start in the few weeks after March 14, got alot done then I made the mistake of taking a vacation. I think the week away would have been fine but then it all started to pile up on me. I moved to a new house, got a new job and all around haven't had the time to work on my build, much less get the new shop in order. I look forward to actually finishing my build from the challenge as well as getting a few more under my belt... We'll see how that goes, I'm still exhausted from all the aforementioned activities. My hat is off to you all, those are some fantastic looking Teles, especially Kwerk's tribute and the Tartancaster!

I'm sure I'll have a lot more free time now that I'm not following 100+ build threads, haha.

Got some hectic paying work until June 20th, including lots of travel, and I gotta build that bass that's gonna be a birthday present on fourth of July, how is that gonna happen?

Also wanna finish my thermo ash LP JR kinda build sometime this year.
Then I'd like to try rewinding the pickups for my cheapo Squier guitar.
Also wanna build a Duo-Sonic style guitar. Neck is partly done already.

Holiday in Berlin later in summer maybe?

Oh yeah and I want to learn to play those guitars too!
