American Standard Thinline
I want to build a modern day thinline Tele - a '69 mahogany thinline body, Am Std Tele neck and Texas Special pickups. I recall Fender building something similar in the 90s, but you think I can track one down? No dice
Are tele bodies/necks interchangeable? ie - will a modern neck bolt to a vintage body (without mods)? I can source all the parts to make a decent partscaster for ~$1000... i'll start accumulating parts if a 22-fret neck will marry to a '69 body. |

Any takers?
Can I expect to bolt this neck to this body, or is it a risk expecting them to fit like a glove? I'm not sure if the heel joint is uniform across ALL 4-bolt telecasters or if it's model/period specific. Sorry if this might be a noob question, but it's my first partscaster build and i'd rather get it right first time. |
