gfs tele bodies?

Has anybody here bought any of the gfs tele bodies? If so, what do you think about them?

I purchased a blem for a partscaster project last summer, it was 30 bucks. My complaints, not many other than that paulownia wood they use is SUPER easy to ding, dent, chip or crack. It was a blem for sure, but I have since put in more than my share of dings and scratches in it... I'll never buy another paulownia body again that's for sure. Also now that I'm building, I'd just assume go to the hardwood store and score enough wood for 30 bucks that will build TWO bodies..

The choice is yours though, it's cheap for making a partscaster.

I bought one of the blem bodies - it's palowna and soft but very light. You really have to look to find the blemish - it's there but you won't notice unless you seek it out.

The neck fits nicely in the pocket, the routes are done well, and the bridge placement is correct. I'm satisfied I got my $'s worth.

I just received a Poplar body from them today. It's pretty nice; the neck pocket is oversized a bit, but that is perfect for me as I am using an SX neck and thought I was going to have to sand the pocket to make the neck fit. It fits pretty damn well, just had to take a bit from the pocket corners to get it to seat all the way back.

The only real flaw is that they carried the roundover too far into the pocket area and the bass side poket edge pulls away from the neck a bit. From the front it looks like there is a big gap, but it's just the over radiused edge. I sanded it to a more roundish shape and it looks better. On another note, they used a bigger round over than a normal tele and it actually feels awesome.

Lastly, the neck pocket holes closest to the neck pickup route are off a bit and will have to be filled and redrilled. Nothing too bad and for the $56 I paid, I am pretty happy.

I also purchased a GFS blem Tele body. On that particular one, I had to order the dual loading bridge as that was the only one that would fit. So, if you order one of their blem bodies, be sure and ask if there are any special needs for it.

Other than that, the body worked out great. The blem was a little crack in the finish. Sooner or later I'd have done something like that at a gig so it wasn't a big deal to me.

i got a paulowonia strat body and its fine .i expect Paulowonia to dent easy but its so acoustic and light its preferable to many other heavier wood for me .Also its so cheap that when it fills up with dents just buy another.it snot a wood for those who love to polish and obey their guitars and keep them custom shoppe perfect but its a good players wood .I have a very cheap 16 quid P wood tele body and its sounds great .Its dents are a legend .

Unfinished ash body. Would not hesitate to buy another one.

I got one of their heavily discounted blems the other day for $29. It's got a couple dings and scrapes, but other than that seems OK. Certainly worth the money I spent on it.

Purchased one a while back. They are VERY light. Mine is neck heavy. I'm going to add weight in the control wrought (built a humbucker equipped esquire).
